I vividly remember setting out my grandmother’s Christmas plates every year. How special they were throughout the holidays and how we would set the table with such care. These dishes had been handed down to her from her mother and were also a special reminder of her childhood. We cooked and laughed and had heart-to-hearts around these sentimental plates printed with Fraser Firs and holly berries.
It wasn’t until I had children of my own that I realized why dishes were such a cherished family heirloom… The memories made around the table are anchored around these holiday-themed plates and servewear. This year, more than ever, I am so happy to make holiday memories with my kids around Christmas plates they’ll remember growing up.
It’s Hudson’s first year being SUPER EXCITED for Christmas and our first attempt at making cookies for Santa — it was messy but it was a success and we had the best time. And then with all the leftover marshmallows, we decided to put together a quick hot chocolate spread with our favorite Coton Colors holiday dishes! It was a great easy (and festive) way to kick off this special week!
